Red Maple is the most common deciduous tree in the east.  Its range stretches from Texas up to Minnesota and all the way east.  It’s the state tree of Rhode Island.  These benches are made from one that came down close to home in Middletown, just off Broad Street.  Only the one on the left in photo remains.
